Muthurajawela Marshland had been declared as a preserve by the Sri Lankan
Government in 1996. In the first time vising you can get an assistant by
Muthurajawela Marsh Centre and they educate visitors about the importance of
the said Marshland. They will give you a well-trained guide and a boat ride
through the marsh and lagoon and who are not interested about a boat ride can
walk on the land. The best time to visit is early in the morning and the evening,
because in the late morning and afternoon you have face to harsh sun rays.
