Yagirala Rain forest is 2,300 hectares in Kalutara District in the Western Province in Sri Lanka.
It is home to a Buddhist Forest Monastery and contains many places of religious
, historical, cultural. And it offers visitors walking, bird – watching,
climbing and swimming activities.
Yagirala forest is managed by the Sri Lanka Forest
Department and 40 hectares was given to the University of Sri Jayawardenepura
for their research of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science .
